First comes Love...

The first time I met Kyle, we were camping at Rollins Lake. He was camping with our boys. I would from time to time check in on the boys and see if they were being "good". I noticed this one kid who seemed to avoid my eyes and stay out of the way.  He was so quiet.  I couldn't let that be... I HAVE TO know about everyone hanging out with my kids, plus I love to harass everyone and if I don't know you... I can't bug you...giggle  Poor Kyle.  Sooo the 20 questions start... who are you, who are your parents, where do you live, why haven't I met you before, are you in college, if so, what are you taking, if not...why not???  He answered everyone of them with flying colors.  He told me he was becoming a paramedic firefighter... Im impressed... (my brother was the Fire Marshall, and my sister in law a paramedic...) OK... Wow... I like you...
That's how I got to know Kyle...
Then he moved in with Nathan down by Rollins Lake.  I didn't see him much, but I knew he lived in the Garage... Why the Garage?? I would worry about him being cold. lol

Sheena at that time was dating hmmm (I'll leave his name out) and I never really thought about Kyle as a suitor.  But when that relationship ended, I noticed that Kyle started coming over to our house more.  He would even hang out with our family and go on our boat. Funny how that works.   Kyle was always so sweet to me... in his cute quiet way.  He'd talk to me, make comments.. then one day he said to me "Where's Sheena"  CLICK...it all started making sense.

I remember I ran into the house where Sheena was hiding in her bedroom being sad and I said, "Sheena!"  "Get yourself fixed up!"  "Kyle is asking about you."  That perked her up.  She came out and they just smiled at each other back and forth and made small talk.  But it was on... for me!

Its funny how our children don't remember things the way we remember them and Im sure visa versa.. but I remember... they were smitten.  I KNEW IT.  At least I knew Kyle was... I could see it in his eye... which was always watching Sheena.  Those quiet ones... hmmm

Kyle knew how to impress me... he knew he had to...giggle  He taught me how to drive our new boat... my boys wouldn't teach me, they knew I would be on it all the time... and they were right... but Kyle was kind enough to teach me... he has such a sweet way about him... I love that boy!  So easy to be around.

But... I love to harass as I said... here is one of those things I did to poor Kyle... I love to see how kids respond...it tells alot

When Kyle and Nathan lived next door to us in our rental.  I could hear Kyle shooting his gun at birds.  That bothered me... not just for the birds.. but also, my dogs would drag them home.  NOT OK... so I told Kyle... please don't shot the birds...  Then one day I heard him shooting birds again... I MARCHED OVER THERE and walked in the house and he was standing there holding the gun and I just walked by him and grabbed the gun at the same time and walked out the back door without saying a word...  He didn't say a thing... he just stood there.

I kept that gun till he moved out.  He never said one thing to me, never asked for it, nothing...I had to ask him if he wanted it back when he moved out.  Funny boy.  Maybe he is scared of me...hmmm

Kyle seems to have me figured out though... he knows my bark is bigger than my bite... he know how to question my thinking in a way that stops me in my tracks... He challenges me... I like that!

I happy for Sheena, she is a lot like me... has her own mind and opinion, Kyle will be good for her and keep her excited and on her toes.  I confident of that.

So that's how it started for me... but they took over from there... and I couldnt be happier!
